WOW.
I really did have the most amazing
week of my life. It was so so sweet. We (the Westland/Grove City crew
and myself) traveled to Lake Saranac in New York to Young Life camp. I
love mountains! The colors were so rich and the scents so refreshing.
All kinds of trees surrounded us yet gave away at the waterfront. Never
have I laughed so hard and enjoyed people so much. Every conversation I
had was so eye opening and awesome. So much deeper than the usual small
talk. It was so great to be reminded that we are living for something
so much bigger than ourselves. The girls that were in the cabin (yeah
Pharaoh Lake!) are girls I feel so much more close to and still
everyday I can't wait to hear from them and see them. God opened my
heart and my eyes to a deeper level of caring for people, and not just
with these girls/guys from camp, but with people in general. Getting to
know someone is one of the most amazing things. It just reminds me that
God created us for relationships which makes sense that we feel more
fulfilled when we are in them, especially with Him. My heart longs for
another sail trip (and by trip I mean a multiple hour adventure where
we may have gotten lost, stuck and forced to jump for dear life),
another hike down to the point (a huge rock at the point of the lake
that puts you right in front of an enchanting island), another canoe
experience (complete with pirates attacking us), another heart to heart
conversation (and man were the hearts I got to know amazing), another
camp trip with Lindsay (it was possibly her last as she goes off as an
official graduate now), another chance to completely humiliate myslef
doing silly things that no one outside camp would believe could be fun,
and another night to realize more kids are wanting a relationship with
Christ and deciding to turn around and start over. What can beat that?
Nothing I tell you. It's worth anything to see that someone else is
starting to experience the real life we were created for. I want to
describe every moment of the week but it's impossible. So I will leave
you with the simple knowledge that it was an awe-inspiring week.
Although it was completely draining, it was completely energizing at
the same time.
hey guys make sure we sit in the front! hehe
