I'm not dead or in jail
Hmmm, I suppose I should update about the major things I've told you all about but then failed to tell you the outcomes :-)
My dad's visit in April went well. We certainly aren't best friends and he's still pretty self-centered, but it was nice to understand where I get some of my personality traits from and see him through my more adult eyes.
We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo where I could have spent the entire afternoon watching the polar bear. He was putting on quite the show for the crowd.
We also tried a restaurant in our soon-to-be-new neighborhood and my dad helped me go through and pack up a bunch of stuff.
Because, yes, were are still in the midst of packing for our move to our new apartment. The movers come May 18th. We got the keys on May 1st and have been over there a few times. There are a few things that need to be fixed and our new landlord seems...well...interesting but here's hoping he actually takes care of issues.
Other than freaking out about moving and getting packed I'm really excited for our new apartment. I will miss being able to look out the window and see my flowers blooming (instead of staring at the highway and a parking lot) but we are near a university campus so at least there are some trees nearby.
I am REALLY excited about being able to ride my bike to work or, heck, RUN to work (we have showers). Right now I pass our new place on the train to and from work and I just think "Soon. Soon."
So, uh, house warming party this summer? Who's in?
