Surprising turn of events in the Land of the Pharaohs. I didn't think Mubarak would cave so easily. But then again, he's 82 & not getting any younger, and there's no way in hell anybody will let his son take over, so it was the end for his "dynasty." However, before people celebrate too soon, I should point out the army now has control of the country, & until they are ready to allow free elections, this has essentially been a coup. The military will try to wring the best deal they can get out of the new democracy.
A truly democratic Egypt will be much harder for us to deal with, & make life miserable for Israel. Furthermore, if the Muslim Brotherhood takes over, you can forget about women's rights. All the ladies who participated in the demonstrations may be disappointed...
