[ Usopp did not get a crapload of books from the library. And he totally didn't stay up far too late reading some of them. And Hamlet was definitely not among the books he picked up

Really? What's wrong with happy endings!? They're so much nicer!

Yeah, they are, aren't they? I mean- I guess people need to tell stories that don't end well, sometimes, but. I never really liked telling those.

I only like the happy ones. If they're make-believe why not make it happy?

Mm, I think...a lot of stories are people telling things the way they wanted them to happen. Or how they want them to happen someday.

But real life isn't...very good at happy endings. And sometimes there's a person who knows that, and sometimes it's better for everyone else not to forget that that can happen. [ ... ] Besides, sad endings are sometimes really good beginnings, right?

Stories about life are important to retell - that I understand. Then even though the ending is sad there are things to be learned from it.

...and I guess sad endings can lead to good beginnings.

[Pause and a pout.] But I’d still rather read the happy ending ones if they’re made up.
