[As a certain broomhead someone has been spreading around the emo bug- thanks, by the way- Usopp is today invested in the sketching of a certain ship recognizable to some. You know, a nice picture of it not encased in flame. << He'll probably be trying to transfer it to one of his new sketchbooks later but for now he is content. Gdit Merryyyyyyyy

[Being the artist she is, Miyabi can't help but be interested when a rather marvelous sketch begins to appear on the pages of her journal. Wow, Usopp, you're very talented; Miyabi is impressed! But wait, did he just say "Nami"? Oh, this must be one of the pirates she vaguely knows... Time to go fishing.]

Is this your ship? You draw very well, mister.

[voice] Of course not. >> I never stalk you either.

[PFT hi there voice. Guess that was kind of an open risk, whups.]

Oh, thanks! [...] She, ah, used to be our ship. This is the Going Merry. Pretty rough sailing in the Grand Line, though, and we didn't have a real shipwright to fix her in time.

But our new ship is really good to us, too.

[Voice] - Clearly that wasn't you outside my window, amirite? :|

[WELL, TOO BAD. Now you're stuck with her. Miyabi raises a brow curiously. She senses the pause and she can't help but be a little curious. Uh oh, does she really want to test the waters?]

It's a lovely ship...What happened to her - if you don't mind my asking, mister.

[She stares right at the picture of the ship for a while, committing it to memory. Miyabi got seriously lucky, it'd be a lot easier to plan her surprise this way, with the ship staring her in the face like that. Now she doesn't have to ask what it looks like. Because that'd be kind of suspicious... She is glad you have another ship, though.]

[Voice] Course it wasn't.

[The waters are less angsty than they used to be, at least.]

No, I don't mind. You can call me Usopp, too. [Why, why storytime, you say?] Merry was... a really brave ship. She took us places that people couldn't reach with ships five times her size, even. But I guess that doing that kind of dangerous stuff wasn't very good for her, even if she still wanted to keep sailing. There was- a lot of damage. Ha, and I'm not very good at fixing ships, I guess. By the time we found a shipwright, she was... [;^;. Oh. Uh.]

Well, she made it out one last time and saved us then, so it would have been cruel not to let her rest.

[Voice]

Usopp? Ah, you must know Sanji and Brook, then. [She smiles and bows her head a little in a gesture of greeting.] I'm Miyabi, nice to meet you~

[Oh, my, he really can tell a good story. The painter listens intently, hanging onto his words. Oh...poor things. She makes a little face at that and leans over to write something down on a separate piece of parchment before grabbing another brush, dipping it into her inkpot, and speaks.]

I'm sorry for your loss...I've not sailed, nor really gone out of my old village at all, really, but it must be very painful to lose something that you know very well. [And she'll add a little something to that drawing, Usopp, a vast and vibrant ocean, with some really big goldfish catfish jumping out of the water around it.] Though it will not replace the old one, the new ship is a fresh start to being another story, correct? ♥

Yeah, we're all on the same crew. It's nice to meet you too, Miyabi.

I guess. But it's easier when you're with your nakama. [;; <3] Exactly! She'd be really proud of us.

[She smiles. It's much better to see people happy than being emopandas. But she does blink and stare at her journal with a look of shock on her face. That word... Okay, seriously, this is kind of creepy. First fruit native to her homeland, now her language. Seriously, what the hell, guys. 8|]

A-Ah...where did you say you were from? It can't be possible. There's no way that--

Hm? Well I grew up in East Blue, but we've been sailing on the Grand Line for a while. Or, ah, we were before we got here, or something.

You know it? [8D]

[Of course...It really couldn't be possible. Even if Miyabi didn't know much outside the land of Kamui, where she lived in Nippon, she did hear stories from her old teacher. Nothing included any of what he said. But then, how did he know her language?]

N-No...Not at all, I'm sorry. I come from Nippon. But--[She looks utterly baffled.]--that word. Nakama...it's a word in my language back home. How do you know it?

It's a word in our world, too. You know, nakama. Like a family.

That's interesting...I didn't know other worlds could have the same language. [But she smiles. It's nice to have something in common with someone outside her world. It makes things all that much more fun.] Hehe, in Nippon the word for family is kazoku.

[This is so true.] I didn't know they could either. But it's really interesting! [Eh, he's a curious panda.]

Kazoku... Sounds like a good word.

[She claps her hands together with a light giggle. You know how to make people smile, Usopp, even when you yourself are riding the angst train. Miyabi's just glad you kind of got off even for now.]

Aa, it is. Even though the family I had back home isn't really blood related to me. It's mostly just the friends and villagers back home. I don't really remember my mother or father much. But I still consider them my family, because I've known them all since I was very small~ ♥

And I have a family here now, too, I'm very glad for that.

[Dawh. Chuckle.] Family's not always about blood anyway, Miyabi. Just ask anyone on our crew.

Good. No one should be alone around here, right?

That's right. [Considering Miyabi doesn't remember much of her parents at all, really. She was mostly raised by the people of her village.] I consider the people back home very special~

Actually, I do have someone from home here. She's one of my gods - the Mother Goddess, Amaterasu, who rules over the Sun. If you've seen a white wolf running around here with red markings, that's her. [She giggles at the thought of her dorky sunpuppy trolling it up in the city...because she totally would.] She likes food and being pet, so please treat her nicely! ♥
