Maybe Ian had special plans coming into before Amita got grabbed. Maybe Charlie needed some help calming down and getting back in the game while Amita was missing. And that scene at the end? Maybe in your version Charlie had a proposal for someone else. Remember threesomes are allowed as long as Charlie and Ian get it on.
