The Stolen Generation debate
I'm sick of this "sorry" shit.
I personally think that we shouldn't have to apologise. Not because of the old argument "I didn't do it, I wasn't even born!" but because of something else. If K-Rudd is gonna apologise about the Stolen Generation, how about the German government apologise to the people of the Holocaust. How about the Russian government apologise to the people of the Communist era. And while we're at it, the aboriginals can apologise to us for stealing our stuff (ok, now I'm just bitter).
As I was saying to someone else today, I am actually sorry for the people who this happened to. It would have been a horrible experience. But I don't think that merits a national sorry day. And I do not think it's K-Rudd's decision to say sorry to the Stolen Generation on behalf of people who don't even believe in it!
