  • What should I read on my vacation?
  • Will the tiny baby eucalyptus tree survive the winter or should I dig it up and put it in a pot, inside?

  • If I do that, will it poison the cats?
  • Can I take Advil on top of Relafen? No.
  • How can one magically overnight become the kind of person who cleans the house and goes to the gym every day?

I have been cruelly conned into reading Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon, which is eating my head.

I was, uh, late to work because I had to read another 20 pages.

Yeah, I should probably read that. Although I will note I still haven't read Snow Crash, either.

So far, Cryptonomicon is better than Snow Crash. And Snow Crash is a quick and speedy read.

It's in my bag right here. I am resisting the urge to pretend I am working and inhale it.

So you're likely to be done with it before I go on vacation Oct 10th, then? So I could like borrow it? (Not that I probably don't know 100 people who own the book.)

I read really super slowly because of the small and highly mobile distraction that lives in my house. But if I do finish it, I will pass it on.

I agree that Cryptonomicon is better than Snow Crash but add the caveat that Snow Crash will piss you off less!!

Hmm... I don't wanna be pissed off on vacation.
