softball and roosevelt quote
Softball last night: lost one 13-3, rained out on the second game. Getting a better hang of being the catcher. Feeling more a part of the team. I still suck real bad though. Need more practice, don't know when I will get it. Also the team last night were a bunch of jackasses and clearly enjoyed in a malicious way kicking our asses, a quality I find repellent. Went to Chili's with many teammates post-game-rainout. Lots of tiny kids, very scary. Learned a few things yesterday though:
1. A dry, hard field is hell on the knees.
2. Size, as they say, does not matter. Strong, agile, fast, skilled women come in ALL shapes and sizes. I have at this point seen women half my size nail a softball deep into left field, and women twice my size make it to second base in no time flat. And all permutations of the above you can imagine. Playing local softball has been a bit of an eye opener, in case I had any doubts. 36-24-36 isn't biological qualification for shit.
3. Duh, look where you want to throw.

Past that, I hate Fridays like most people hate mondays. Workwise, anyways. Gotta work tomorrow too. At least I'm not sore as hell like last week! Also: had a dream about moving into a house last night. I remember we had a giant fridge and it was so empty, and I was putting all these weird leftovers in it, like half eaten muffins.
