oh my god, so I did some research on what Motor Neurone Disease is because, to be honest, I thought, well, if she has it, it can't be too bad because she seems alright. WRONG. It's a PROGRESSIVE DEGENERATIVE muscular condition; it's what old Stevie Hawkings has, and he's LUCKY TO HAVE LIVED SO LONG.
It takes 3-4 years to run its course, which I guess means in that time you degenerate as much as you will because you could get off lightly. But 50% die within 3 years of diagnosis, another load by 10 years and "many" -obviously not THAT many- live for a further 20 years.
SHOCKER. No wonder she always looks like she's about to burst into tears. So now the old plan is to get to know her and buck her spirits up.
But more awesomely, it's the last night of the Proms :D
