FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Last night I came home crying after a 16-hour workday with my ridiculously crazy boss. Want to quit, feel bad about it, not sure what I'm going to do. That's the extremely condensed version (I just deleted three paragraphs' worth of a more elaborate one. It was boring. You can thank me later).
Meanwhile, it's the season opener of the NFL tonight. GEAUX SAINTS! (And while we're at it, FUCK YOU, FAVRE!) On Saturday, it's the first home game for my Appalachian Mountaineers. I'm so damn excited words can not convey. Seriously. FUCKING SHIT, YOU GUYS, IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON. I AM A HAPPY B.
Good things that happened? In reverse order:
i: That 16-hour work day included meeting two 20-something pound Maine Coon cats. Cats bigger than my dog. Who is a beagle, not some ridiculous toy. Big guy was 22 pounds, bigger guy was 24. BIG FUCKING CATS. Totally awesome.
ii: Five mile hike with the boy and the fur children. Extremely excellent time, beautiful weather, big blisters on my foot. I need better hiking shoes.
iii: High Country Beer Fest. So much beer! For FREE! Our friend works at a local beer/wine merchant, and got us comp tickets. Lots of beer, DELICIOUS, AWESOME beer, and another beautiful Boone day in which to enjoy it. AND!!! At the end of HCBF, Appalachian decided to come back from their 35-14 deficit and COME BACK TO WIN their season opener! I lost a year of my life due to stress, but we won and so I'm very, very happy. I love my football team.
I LOVE FOOTBALL. This is the best time of year. I hope all of you are even close to being as excited as I am about this :]
