At Scottish dancing today, we did a dance called Linnea's Strathspey, which involved a figure that reminded me of Relay the Deucey, although it's also very different. It starts from mini-waves of 3 with the centers facing out:
2Lv 1L^ 3Lv
2M^ 1Mv 3M^
The centers cloverleaf to the right (but don't face in), while the ends touch 1/2, ending in a tidal setup:
1M^ 2L^ 2Mv 3L^ 3Mv 1Lv
The outer 4 counter-rotate 1/2 while the centers trade once and a half:
1L^ 3M^ 3Lv 2M^ 2Lv 1Mv
Finally, the ends counter-rotate 1/4 and come into the middle while the center 4 cast off 3/4 and everyone faces up:
3L< 1L< 2L<
3M< 1M< 2M<
Alternatively, in Scottish terminology:
2s & 3s turn 3/4 by the right into the middle while the 1s cast to the right picking up 2L/3M who promenade 1/2 way clockwise as 2M and 3L turn left hands one and a half times. 1s dance on to 2nd place own sides while 3s & 2s turn by the right.
