gmail down [or at least imploding?]

gmail appears to be grinding to a  terrible shuddering halt - at for those who can even sign in.

I'm having serious issues composing mail or changing folders.

Anyone else having any issues today?

Appears to be a global (at least ERruopean and US) Phenomenon
