Caprica was one of the first to make it to the gate. Although her official job was accompanying Dr. Keller, she'd also been anxious for the chance to go through the gate again.

She felt somewhat out-of-place in the rest of the group, but that was only due to the fact that she hadn't had official introductions with the rest of the team yet.

She stood off to one side, pulling her hair up and out of her face, and it was then that she saw Daniel.

Looking up he blinked a little when he saw her standing there. "Oh, hello," he smiled at her just a little, "I don't believe we've met before," he said softly as he offered her his hand, "Dr Daniel Jackson."

She returned the smile as she clasped his hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Doctor. I'm Caprica, and apparently, I'll be joining you on this mission of yours."

"You will?" He smiled and let his hand fall from hers, "I am hoping there will be more of us of course." He glanced over at Ronon and nodded at him. "Have you been here long?"

"A few days," Caprica told him, her own hand falling to her side. "But apparently I'm to be Dr. Keller's assistant on this trip. However, if there's anything you need... please don't hesitate to ask."

"You're helping Jennifer?" He smiled as she appeared and started talking to Ronon, "I'm sure she'll make sure you enjoy yourself." He was still a little nervous about this trip, "So, what is your background in?"

Caprica followed his gaze over to where Jennifer and Ronon were talking, and when she met the other woman's eyes, she smiled.

"Mostly computers," she admitted, turning back to him, "although I do have some experience in medicine."

She paused, grinning slightly. "I suppose I'll just have to see where she wants me."

He smiled and watched as the gate sprung into life.

"Well I am sure you will find this interesting, a lot of people do when they first travel via a gate." Motioning for her to follow he glanced back at the others to make sure they were coming too.

Caprica took one glance backwards over her shoulder before following him through.

Interesting didn't even begin to describe it.

Looking back at her he smiled before walking through. There was the usual rush, the cool feeling and then reality hitting you on the otherside.

Moving to her side Daniel went to catch Caprica just in case her legs gave way.

Give way they did as predicted, and she felt somewhat out-of-sorts.

"... what was that?" she asked, not even realizing he was holding onto her at first.

"That was the wormhole we use to travel across to different planets. If there's a world with a gate we can get to it."

"Why did I...?" She trailed off, still feeling a little weak. "Was that normal?"

Daniel nodded and let her go once she was steady, "Very, some people react with a sick feeling, some are actually sick. The wormhole takes you apart and puts you back together again."

She nodded a few times, swallowing, and once she felt she was able to move without feeling dizzy, took a few steps forward.

"I don't think it'll come to that," she said.

"Lets hope not," he smiled softly at that before waiting for the others, "The ruins shouldn't be too far."
