Update on holiday cards and some completely unrelated Marcus/Esca squee
If you gave me an address to send it to, then an envelope containing a silly card (and a couple little gifties) went out today with your name on it! HUZZAH!
US residents should get theirs sometime this week. Those of you on the other side of the Atlantic from me should get yours... later than that. But definitely before New Year's!
I meant to put together and send everything earlier, buuuuuuut *sheepish grin* I'VE BEEN BUSY SPENDING ALL OF MY FREE TIME READING ALL OF THE MARCUS/ESCA FIC I CAN GET MY GRUBBY LITTLE HANDS ON.
I didn't see The Eagle when it first came out (even though I have a *thing* for historical gayness) because when it did I was neck-deep in Inception fandom. But I finally got around to watching it a couple of weeks ago AND WAS DELIGHTED BY THE FACT THAT I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO USE MY IMAGINATION.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. Marcus and Esca staring deep into each others eyes and vowing things to each other IN THE RAIN. This gif doesn't even come close to capturing all the romance and passion of this scene. AND THAT'S JUST THIS SCENE. Don't even get me started on the scene in which Marcus first sets eyes on Esca. <3______<3 (<----- Marcus' face I'm not even fucking kidding).
So if you've ever had any desire to watch The Eagle, please do. Or (even better!) summon me and we'll make a movie night out of it because I really need to watch it again... and again and again... (It's not the most *quality* film of all time but gosh darn it it's so much fun to watch AND DID I MENTION THE GEY??)
Also (for those of who who've been in this fandom for a while) I WOULD LIKE ALL THE RECS PLEASE. Preferably lesser-known fics that you personally love. I've already read most of the more popular fics. OR JUST COME FLAIL WITH ME IN THE COMMENTS OR ON TWITTER!! :D
