Baby, It's Cold Outside!!

Christmas came again this year, like it comes every year. It was pretty successful from a giving and recieving standpoint, but my heart was not really in it like it has been in years past. The excitement of going downstairs to find toys is long past ever since the toys that I wanted started to get rather expensive. A few years ago I was rather surprised to get a stereo, and that was probably the last Christmas that I was really excited. Now the gifts are more practical. I get DVD's and books, both of which serve long term purposes, but don't have the instant gratification that opening the boxes of toys used to have. I did keep my streak of doing something every day alive for the past few days. Thursday Kellie came over and we watched Collateral. I really liked the movie. The ending was perfect, at least I thought, but both Kellie, and my sister Abby did not feel the same closure with the movie that I did. I guess I'll just have to get the movie and keep it on hand, while they don't have to. Friday (Christmas Eve for all of you keeping track) Scott (my brother for those of you that are not familiar with my family) and I delivered presents to people. When I stopped off at Pup's house, the great holiday classic Jingle All the Way was on television, and I thought that the little boy in the movie looked rather familiar, and then it clicked. That kid was the one in Star Wars episode one. He couldn't act in Jingle all the Way, and He couldn't act in Episode one. I really don't like the kid. But he's rich and I'm not, so he probably doesn't care that I don't like him. Later in the evening, some family friends came over, and we celebrated Christmas Eve like we always do (the one Christmas tradition I love). Our friends come over, we make our own pizzas, and then we open the gifts that we all give to each other. It goes around in a circle. Everyone takes a turn giving a gift, and then eventually, everyone has given all their gifts, and then we go to bed and wait for visions of sugar plum fairies. I hope that everyone else had a good Christmas. I'm glad that now I can go to malls and shopping centers across America and not be stressed that some crazy lady will run me over with her cart. Christmas season does that to people, I hate that the most, but I can't change it. Christmas is supposed to be about the other's first mentality and people are so obsessed with me first while getting others gifts. It's hypocritical, but that's the way that America is. God Bless it, and please God Help it.
