I haven't posted here in a very long time, but given so much else is changing in my life, I'm looking to tidy up around the place, including the Interwebz. So here's a quick update and an update on how to reach me:
In 1-2 months (depending on visa approvals), L and I are making a pretty big move - to Australia, land of wombats and kangaroos (who we've come to find out are as big of pests there as deer are in our area). It's a big, crazy, wild move and one that we never would have thought to make until my job offered us the opportunity to relocate for 2-4 years. It's an amazing chance to see another side of the globe, to explore both our new home country and others in the region, as well as for us to do some really audacious things career-wise.
It's also SO FAR from home. So that's going to be a very large adjustment. We've been spending time with friends and family as much as we can, while we're within arm's reach. But the bit we're cramming in will, I'm sure, be nowhere near enough once we're a 20+ hour flight away from everyone.
That said, this has been an experiment in deconstruction and rebuilding and as such, has been exhausting. The joy will come once we touch down, get a new base camp set up, and can start enjoying the new places ahead.
But just as we're tidying up our house and streamlining our possessions, I think it's time for me to do the same here. So I'm going to pack up this blog and tuck it away in an archive. I'll leave it up for a little bit if anyone wants to make sure they can find me - I'll even make sure the email address routes to a current one of mine - but I'm planning to take this down before we move in Feb.
So if you want to stay in touch, please do so. I'm easy to find on
Facebook (can't promise how much longer I'm staying on there), Twitter (
pro and
personal),
LinkedIn,
Instagram and good old email (check my profile). Or just leave me a comment and give me a peace-out if that's more your style.
And with that, here's a few photos of this past year (mostly from Berlin, Amsterdam and Melbourne) - it's been a damn whirlwind.
