they have all bene at the RADIOHEAD gigs either last nigth, the night before that, tonight, or tomorrow...
but Lisa (oh how i miss thee!!) summe dit up perfectly:
in exit music ppl kept trying to clap along at various times but were told to hush by the crowd. there was a real feeling of reverence for the song. so you'd hear isolated single claps breaking out at different times followed by a loud "shhhhhh" as ppl felt like they were in church. amazing. i'm so glad you'll get to experience them in the desert as i reckon they are the most amazing band of our time and we are truly privileged that our lives conincide with their musical output. that's how strongly i feel. white stripes, strokes, yyys brmc... they're good-time bands and all very well and i've enjoyed their gigs, but rh stand above all others in terms of originality and accomplishment, and dare i say it profundity. it's like a religion.
but then i said much the sme last weekend after watching 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind'... i said that screenwriters like kaufman and directors like gondry make me feel glad to be alive at this time when cinema can be so exciting and original and have profound effects on viewers. so yeah, i'm a wanker!!

floss kept me updated on texts, and i even rang vic while we wallowed in self pity at not being there - well she wasn't wallowing, she was pre-pissing up, and i wasn't relaly either, othe rthan being a sad case drinking at home, living in the phone...what was it that Blondie placed so eloquently upon lyric??
at any rate, the stellar five point gold star award goes to GURU who enabled me to listen to 4 entire tracks...on friday night...oh man - caziness that was that day/night.
can't wait for my toes to be in the desert sand.
not looking fwd to returning, but escaping - again and forever!
i spent all day making mix tapes and shopping for odds and ends - so far i have bought *most* of my list...sunscreen being a high priority...Cheers poppa Kev
