Nostalgia

Racism is the profound failure of the imagination.

I am extremely amused by this quote. Got it off some book from my school library.

I went for dinner at Ang Mo Kio with two of my good friends from Secondary school today. While I was waiting for them, I sat by the playground and looked at almost-deranged kids running around.
It was a pretty funny sight.

Children running around with their mouths slightly agape, showing gaps between their milk teeth. Loopholes, I would call them.
They speed around the playground with such agility, and no trace of self-consciousness at all.
Fatigued parents or grandparents sitting on synthetic dinosaurs, occasionally barking at the children to be careful even though they know their warning are left unheard.

I suddenly felt quite depressed seeing them play with such carefreeness. How I really wish I could go back to those times when all I had to worry about is whether I'll be tagged by the 'catcher'.

Seems that age and burden are in an upward-sloping relationship.

If I ever have kids, I'll make sure they have the best childhood any kid can ever ask for. Because once adolescence barge in, I guess, things would be changing around here.

Anyway, Steve Irwin, the famous Crocodile Hunter, has passed away due to a fatal sting of a stingray. It's a shocking news and I'm actually really upset. But I guess when your time is up, you can't really do anything to change it.

I'm expecting a 3-hour tribute for him on Discovery Channel.
