- I was almost murdered by a bottle of apple juice today at work. It threw itself off a high shelf right at my head, but luckily I'm stealthy and managed to evade it.
- I really don't like spoilers and they just seem to be everywhere lately. I get that people are excited about the last few episodes of the season, but still. People say things like, "Well, this isn't really spoilery so..." and then they give details that may not have to do with the overall plot, but are still spoilery to me. Like the characters who were in episode 2.20, which I found out without really wanting to, which bummed me out because I wanted to be surprised. I don't know. Maybe I'm just a whiny bitch.
- It was 95 degrees in LA today and still only 85 in Tucson. This is not fair. I want my summer heat, damnit! On the upside, we're supposed to hit 100 by Friday. Yay!
- I'm working on a SPN AU right now, 15,000 words so far with the goal of 1,000 words a day. I've been doing pretty good until now. I've got 200 words and, um...I was going to say "and counting," but I'm totally avoiding working on it right now, so. Yes. 200 words today. Yippee?
20 Things that are My Personal Supernatural Canon
1. Sam worked at Starbucks while at Stanford. He still hasn't had the nerve to admit that to Dean since he knows Dean would mock him mercilessly for it. Dean already knows.
2. Dean never gets drunk. He has a beer or two, sure, but he never actually allows himself to drink to the point of intoxication. He thinks getting drunk is sloppy and wouldn't want to do anything that kept him from reacting fast enough to save himself or Sammy.
3. Sam stopped drinking in college because he drank too much and it scared Jess. He realized he was drinking six beers a day, plus hard liquor, and he hadn't even noticed. It was really hard to stop. He kind of forgave his dad's drinking a little bit after that, but not completely because at least Sam had stopped and John never had.
4. Jess thought that Sam's dad abused him, even though the one time she brought it up he denied it vehemently and told her his father would never, ever hurt him. There was no other explanation for the scars on his body, his heightened startle response, the way his eyes got dark when he refused to talk about his family.
5. For as much as Dean professes not to like chick flick moments, he's usually the one who wants to talk about how Sam's feeling.
6. Dean can say no to Sam, has always been able to say no to Sam, he just doesn't usually want to.
7. Sometimes, Dean jerks off while thinking of his father. He tries really hard never to think about it the rest of the time, but when he does, it feels like proof that he's royally fucked up and maybe deserves to have everybody leave him.
8. While Sam was at Stanford, Dean left too. Not right away, but after a few months since he and John were at each other's throats since the day Sam left. He went to Chicago, got a job at a garage, tried to be normal. He could barely make enough money for rent, got twitchy when he realized that people in his neighborhood were used to seeing him around and knew his name, and ended up punching his boss in the mouth when he got ragged on for being 10 minutes late. Then he killed a Moroi terrorizing Brighton Park, realized normal wasn't for him, and got back to hunting. He and John never talked about it, and he's never told Sam.
9. Dean's really good at math. It's easy and beautiful to him, the way numbers line up and make such perfect sense. When he dropped out of high school, the only teacher that went out of their way to make sure he was all right, that tried to get him to change his mind, was his AP Calculus teacher. Her name was Mrs. Rosenthal and she smelled liked old lady perfume. Whenever he gets anywhere close to Lancaster, he checks up on her, makes sure she's all right.
10. Sam lost his virginity when he was 14 to a girl named Melissa. She was a few years older than him and kind of easy. He didn't even like her, doesn't think she even liked him, but they were alone and it was just something they were supposed to do or whatever. He wasn't very good, which he knows because she told him so. He never told Dean, but Dean totally knew since he was the one who introduced Sam to Melissa in the first place.
11. Sometimes, Jess would get embarrassed that Sam would darn his socks and use coupons and only buy the laundry detergent that was on sale. She chastised herself for it, though, because he wasn't cheap, he was thrifty, plus he was the only one of the two of them that knew how to balance a checkbook. She couldn't have survived on her own without her parents' money, she knew that. Plus, Sam's independence and self-reliance were two of the things that made her fall in love with him in the first place.
12. Sam and Dean shared a bed until Dean was 16 years old and John told him that maybe they boys were a little too old to be sharing the same bed anymore. Dean agreed, acted like he was glad to finally have his own bed, but not having Sam next to him ached like a phantom limb. He still only gets a really good night's sleep when Sam's curled up next to him.
13. For as much as Sam professes a want for normality, he doesn't really give a shit what anyone thinks of him or of Dean.
14. Sleeping with his brother--having sex with his brother--doesn't make Sam feel guilty. At all.
15. Dean only started making such a big show of all the girls he's slept with because he wanted to cover up the fact that he was maybe a little queer for his brother.
16. Sam doesn't want to go back to Stanford anymore. He doesn't want "normal" anymore. He knows a lot of it has to do with how much he hates the yellow eyed demon and how much he wants to kill that bastard for taking his mom and his girlfriend and his life away from him, but the other part is the fact that he really does believe in doing good and fighting evil and making the world a better place.
17. Sam almost got kicked out of college his second year for fighting, got put on probation and everything.
18. Sam's slept with a lot of guys. His first year at Stanford, he went a little crazy with the freedom of not having Dean and John looking over his shoulder and slept with pretty much every guy he could. When he realized that was was thinking about Dean 90% of the time he was having sex, he started going out and getting in fights instead. He's worked through pretty much all of it in therapy.
19. Sam doesn't know exactly how tall he is. When people ask, he just guesses 6'4" or 6'5"-ish. It annoys Dean, who knows that he's exactly 6'1" when he stands up straight.
20. Jess told the best dirty jokes, thought it was kind of hot that Sam was bi, believed in his genius completely, thought she looked better when she wasn't wearing makeup, liked afternoon sex best, hated to floss, and wasn't afraid to tell the truth even when it was hard. Had she lived, she would have loved Sam forever.
