What's in my makeup bag. Or, um, bags. Or, well, okay, drawers and bags and baskets...
A billion years ago everybody was doing a meme showing off everything they had in their makeup bags and I was a little hesitant to do it because I don't have a makeup bag, I have an entire makeup station, and that's a little embarrassing. Like, people freaked out over how much I carry in my purse and that's nothing compared to this.
But I took pictures with my crappy camera phone and meant to post them but forgot about it until just now. So, here!
This is an overview of the whole setup. Sort of. I also have a laptop desk to the left that's usually for my computer but sometimes gets taken over by bottles of nail polish and hairbrushes and jewelry.
This is what I call my vanity. It's really an old computer desk with a full length mirror behind it that my sister painted in high school. All those black smudges on the edge? Years of eyeliner and mascara accidents. That shit's permanent, yo.
The sliding keyboard drawer is pretty handy for storing curling irons. I highly recommend that if you use clipless curling irons that get really hot, you also use the protective gloves that come with them. I have two, one for each hand, and because I'm a klutz who will find a way to burn herself if it's at all possible, I also usually tie bandannas around my wrists to protect them. And I've learned not to use them while wearing a tank top. Surprisingly, I've never burned my face. And now that I've said that, I'm going to burn the shit out of my forehead within a week.
Hiding underneath my vanity are sponge rollers, pillow rollers, nail polish, and makeup I haven't used in a while or only want occasionally, like glitter. Don't judge me, okay?
This is the small dresser in which most of my makeup lives. On top I keep perfumes despite the fact that I rarely wear fragrance.
In the top drawer I keep lipliners, lipstick, gloss, etc on the left and eyeliners, random shadows, and false lashes on the right.
In the middle drawer it's a mix of foundation, blush, bronzer, brushes and sponges, and hair tools. I don't know why the screwdriver's there. Oh, wait, yes I do! The light in my magnifying mirror had just burned out and I used the screwdriver to take it apart.
The bottom drawer is where I shove everything I don't really have a use for. Yes, that's a package of Twilight candies. An ex gave them to me because she knew how much I hate Twilight and, seriously, it's kind of hilarious. The candies sparkle. And taste really, really gross.
And that's what's in my makeup bag! We won't talk about the storage containers in my bathroom under the sink...
