Bandom Stuffsit was so awesome this year.

So, the bandomstuffsit author reveals are up! I was way off when trying to guess most of them -- I only got two right, and only one of those was, "Well, this is obviously by so-and-so."

Thankfully, one of the ones I got mostly right was mine. roga was on my shortlist of authors, and she's the one who wrote the gorgeous As Real As all for meeeeeee.

Were the hints I dropped heavy enough for you all to figure out that I wrote the Waycest + Frank In My Blood Like Holy Wine for gala_apples? The second I turned it in, I thought, "Well, shit, Penny will know for sure it was me with that Joni Mitchell title even though she won't read it."

Writing it was really rough, as I've mentioned it before. I didn't know my recipient at all, didn't know what she liked, and had never written all but one of the many pairings she'd mentioned. I felt like I was totally going to let her down when I ended up writing something I liked instead of anything she'd requested. I did accidentally get one of her prompts in there a little bit, though, and she left me an amazing comment saying she liked it. I'm so glad I didn't turn out to be the only person who thought it was worth reading. \o/

What was writing like for the rest of you? How did you feel your assignments matched up to what you'd written before? Were you nervous or confident that your recipient would like it? Were any of you writing for total strangers the way I was, or did you write for somebody on your flist? Did you ask the mod to tell you who your recipient was?

I love to talk about writing, you guys. Talk about writing with me!

jfc frankie how so pretty, oh gee, bandomstuffsit, mcr, mikeway is a unicorn, writing
