...yay?

Well, what do you know? A post about yayworthy things, at least for me.

So, first things first. I need my Splenda for my tea, and I was fortunate enough to refurnish my supply and score a great deal of packets. But, shh, don't tell Dunkin Donuts.

I'm pretty sure my dorkitude will never rest. So, that most-nighter I pulled last Monday night was apparently a little better than I though. My professor came up to me after class and asked if I could send her the file of my assignment via e-mail. I was like "She lost it, dammit!" But no, apparently she wants a copy because in future classes she might copy and paste paragraphs of it or something as an example. To quoth "It's beautiful" and "I'm not even sure I could have written it." I was pretty surprised. I don't know, I mean, the assignment was to examine and interpret the nonverbal gestures and behaviors in a video segment she gave us. I just kind of walked through and did that. Still, I won't lie, those kinds of things still leave me immensely flattered and happy -- even now, in my last semester. I am a dork. Told ya so.

So, you know how I have been shoving my latest musical obsession down all your throats? Well, John Wesley Harding aka Wesley Stace is coming to a bookstore for a reading and even some music playing in the next town over from me. I thought, "I have to go!" But then, I remembered, I have no way there. And besides, it's one of my flatmate's bdays. Then, I mentioned it to a friend, and she was up for it. I linked her to his session on the World Cafe recently, and she liked what she heard. You guys, I'm going to see John Wesley Harding! *squee* I have no idea how my emotional state will be, though. I got a DVD from Netflix in which he performs Songs of Misfortune, old-folk style songs he wrote for his novel Misfortune. I've listened to his live tracks on the albums I have his, but just seeing him, even if it was far far away and many years (read: like 4) ago, I was so excited I almost started tearing up. So...I guess we'll see. (Perhaps this is why they're serving complimentary wine at the reading/singing, to keep fangirls like me calm. Too bad I don't drink.)

Also, quick note: The Unusuals was awesome last night. Just a reminder for fellow fans who need to seek it out, we got a bonus ep this week. The regular one will still air tonight. (Double the Adam Goldberg? Be still me heart!)
