I know I shouldn't laugh, but...

As most ppl know who read this, part of my job (especially on Saturday's) is to take death notices to run in the newspaper. Strange as it sounds, this is actually my favourite place to work, can't explain it (and no, I'm not some sicko who enjoys death hehe), but it's definately a job you either love or hate, there is no inbetween.

One of the funnier parts of the job, is of course some of the names you see in notices (either of the deceased themself, or relatives/friends mentioned in the notice). I know, it's childish to find these funny, and I don't mean any disrespect by it, but to do this job, you just have to find the humour in it.  Sometimes you get some of the best names from the funeral homes/directors themselves, so apparently this isn't just a hobby here at work ;)

We were actually discussing some of our favourite names from the past, and I figured I'd post some of them here, just to share the amusement of it all. And before anyone gets all 'you can't just put people's names up without asking them', these all ran in the newspaper, so they already put themselves in the public/internet so anyone could find these without me putting them here.

Some of our favourites:

Harry Badger
Harry Beaver
Rose E. Butt
Harry Butts (and his wife, Beryl Butts)
Harry Chin
Max Cramp
Milford Dedman (we've actually had a few Dedman's over the years)
Anita Dickman
Yu Fatt
Phyllis May Feast
Harry Glasscock
Dick Harding
Dick Holder
Dr. Pain
''Slim'' Pickens
Tubby Pidgeon
Rocky Ridge
Jack Russell

These, however,  have to be the top two so far:

Richard (Dick) Shrivels, of Coldwater
May Swallow
