Obviously when I was playing Dragon Age 2 I noticed the vast amount of level design re-usual. It's impossible not to. My characters must have slaughtered their way through the exact same generic cave a dozen times. And yeah, it was a bit annoying.
I guess I was expecting the same thing again while replaying Origins. It's been so long, I didn't remember a lot of it. But there's none! It's all original, designed for the specific environment you're supposed to be in. And considering the first game is considerably larger in scale than the second, that's even more remarkable. And it makes the recycling in Dragon Age 2 look even more rushed and frankly lazy than it did anyway.
Bioware claim they're going to address the issue of level re-use in Dragon Age 3. I hope so, because it's not like the damn game hasn't sold enough to justify spending more money to produce a quality product. Otherwise it's just ripping off customers - all the impressive character work in the world won't disguise laziness in gameplay quality, especially when you make not effort at all to hide the extent of the re-use.
