Mass Effect: Jane Shepard
The new Mass Effect 3 trailer, featuring female Shepard. I love this character model, and I wish I could have played her from the start. I've played the game as both male and female Shepard, and frankly, fem!Shep is the one for me. The voice acting is light years ahead, and I love the character's supreme confidence and natural leadership. She empathises and invests in her friends without dropping into a clichéd sensitive soft woman stereotype, and she kicks ass without dropping into a tired ruthless uber-bitch stereotype either. She just gets the job done. And I wish so hard that it didn't have to come from a character designed to be played as either male or female - just once I'd like to see a purely female character made this powerful, this competent, this admired. No compromises.
