i moved in to a condo near work last monday but i don't want ANYONE from work to know because this is what happens when people find out you live just five minutes away:
a text message from the edit supervisor
edit sup (10 am) may special coverage tayo, reg. may stampede sa ultra 60+ namatay! pinapapasok tayo ni ma'am beth ASAP
my reply (4 hours later): ngayon ko lang po nabasa txt nyo. seryoso pinapapasok? nilalagnat po ako :( (i really was sick and I was in paranaque, not in QC)
edit sup: ok na, nandito naman pala (boss mo), at saka tapos na kami. sige pahinga ka na lang, tnx.
gaaah. i've been living in my condo for a little less than a week and people already know about it. the receptionist at the condo must've tattled.
how shallow am i that i'm talking about how much it sucks to get called in for work when the real issue is that 60++ people died a primitive death by way of stampede? and can i add how relieved i am that this happened on a weekend and not on a weekday because if it did, that's gonna spell out more work for us?
ok, i'm sorry. i've been reading about it all day and watching the news on teevee and it really saddens me that all this had to happen. all because 30,000 people wanted to win a prize and see their favorite celebrities in person. all they wanted was momentary relief from their lives but it ended up being permanent.
