Cafe Juanita and Tita Nini

On this particular night she took me to the opening of the Japanese artist show in Manila. Cafe Juanita was her favorite spot and this was my first time in this restaurant.

We shared two desserts. They were delicious.

I loved the interiors.

Two days ago our living room was filled with these mysterious bags. I opened them and discovered her oil paints, canvases, brushes and other materials. I also found a Kahlo-esque embroidered cape in one of the bags. Just when I wanted to quit painting, and the universe gives me this in the form of my inheritance from her.

So I stopped the work I was doing and painted this for her.

Thank you Tita, I know you are in a better place now.
