Summer so far...

Its kinda intimidating the amount of stuff I have to rant on about since my last post.

Afraid the excessive funnery couldn't be done justice even if I stayed at the computer all day (which I’m not allowing myself to do, housework to get sorted, report to write and most importantly- a big dragon head in the living room that is yearning for some horny cheek bones). Jo- honey, your old keyboard is quite minging- though very useful, thanks.

So, despite doing barely any revision for the exams and spending most of the revision period drawing comics and arting around, I passed em all. This makes me happy- also sadly makes my lazy side do a little dance- though it has been warned if it pops its head up next year I’ll not be happy. Surprisingly enjoyed molecules and cells module despite frack loads more work than first years are supposed to bother with. Kiwi DNA when using ethidium bromide as a marker makes sneakies cry.

The holidays followed which is where I currently am, though much further into them. Has been a good summer, though can I request you damn people stop being so happy and in love for five minutes as I can't take another wedding for at least a year! :P First my dads which was rather nightmarish to say the least. As far as the woman he married is concerned, let’s just say you can't spell environmentalist without 'mentalist'. Also my dad is an ass-hat, but I should have figured that years ago.

Then came my big (literally) cousin Matt's wedding which was a lot of fun as I finally got to see family that I haven't for yeaaaaars. My dads side mostly live in London or near so I very rarely get to be with them. It’s got to me before as they are a great bunch and would love to have a deeper connection to my cousins of which there are tons. Fun time though got my feet crushed a lot by the many Bristol (his team) rugby players attending the reception. It was in beautiful grounds with corridors of trees and underground grotto's lined with shells, stained glass and precious stones. Spend most of the time getting soaked in the rain messing around in the gardens with my cousins like little children.

Last but not least, Sarah and Brandon, two friends I have made up here in Edinburgh through Jo got married just last weekend. It was a really lovely day and I was on such a high. She looked absolutely beautiful and he was wearing handmade kilt socks! (she's a fanatical knitter). There was a ceilidh to follow which I think I must have only missed 2 dances, not due to lack of want. It was a really great night and so well thought out, it was a very personal wedding- the entire ceremony from morning to night reflected the couple who had wanted that day for so long. There’s certain pairs you see that in very little time of knowing them you would put money on them being together for the rest of their lives, certainly with these two.

Jo's graduation was a fun day full of ceremony and pink hooded students. Was very proud of him despite his reluctance to become a doctor.  Hands hurt by the end of the ceremony having clapped 250 med students and 200 doctorates, theology, philosophy and medical bio students through their graduations- but still had enough use of them to continue hugging the life from him for the rest of the day. I think I’ll take a sketch pad to my graduation if I get there.

Had other Jo related funnery with his birthday which as you know I am often inclined to plot and scheme for such occasions. There were a lot of balloons and clues and ninja's and cake and mashed potato and party games and shooters involved. I believe this photo sums the night up nicely.

What else.... crums, there are lots of little menial things that I would love to rant about but shall save it for now.

I leave you with this. Sadly it’s fading pretty fast.
