Hey Guys!
I'm back in the mountains! Its such a bittersweet departure to leave home to come back here. One thing that made it better was that I brought a little friend with me and its name is Lindsay! :-) She's out here for a week to see if she likes it and so far it has exceeded her expectations. Having her here will definitely make me feel a little more comfortable as long as she behaves! hehe. So, a new chapter begins. We'll title this one, uh, "Wanna see my mountains?" Sure, whatever. that'll do.
We went to Chicago for a night on Wednesday and had a great night! Stayed in the beautiful Wyndham downtown which was gorgeous. Because of all my Wyndham points (thanks Brookie) they upgraded us to a corner suite, so we had two walls of windows looking at the watertower and sears building. Absolutely perfect. We spent our time visiting my good high school friend and also my partner in crime, er, he was more just an instigator Brian Steketee of Steketee's fame and his wife. Just a quick story. He grew up on a lake in East Grand Rapids and his father had a bazillion guns in his basement. Rarities and the mundane. Anyway, one day he opened up his sliding door which faces the lake and pulled the rifle up on his shoulder and shot a bunch of ducks dead on the lake. The ice was red from the blood and Brian just laughed it off. We always seemed to attract the attention of the cops, but thats one time that I really wish Brian got caught. He also burned down a sailboat at the yacht club. yah, he isnt as bad as he sounds - just a troublemaker. Great guy. ANYWAY... I took them out to dinner and then forced those ultraconservative tightasses to come to my favorite bar downtown. We saw an interesting opening act. His name was Wesley Willis and his songs, his demeanor, everything made my gut and cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. There was a guy in GR named Darryl Nathan of the Great Darryl Nathan Entertainment Hour on public access who was shockingly similar. Upon reading some about Wesley Willis it turns out he's a paranoid schizophrenic and sang songs using his casio keyboard's preset music and "fill button". Titles were like "rocking at mcdonalds" and "alanis morrisette" and how she rocks saddam hussein's ass. Quite an experience. Do a search for him and check him out. Quite a piece of work. The headliners were some local punk band who were pretty good, but too much like No Doubt aka No Talent Ass Clowns. I cant stand poseur punk. After that we went for pizza and beers and condoms. All in one store. scary. Chicago is one of those cities that is great to visit but i couldnt stand living there.
I get my puppy today and am a little nervous. I'm giving birth to a baby. I'll post some pictures later. Also, you should listen to some stuff we recorded on New Years Eve at my house. I'll put it on rapidshare when i have some time. Kenny's music is the most drunken slobbering flubberpoop nonsense it just makes you laugh and also feel sorry for him. haha. Okay, I'm rambling and a little tired from the time change.
I just want to thank everyone for a great time back in MI. It was great seeing all of you and being able to share this money with you all. As my brother-in-law taught me long ago "Money is replaceable, experiences are not." Right on! Love you all!
