Hate makes me impotent, love makes me crazy, somewhere in between I'll be okay
Why is everyone so fucking stupid?
Had to get that out of my system. Oh well, another glorious spring day with tempertures reaching the upper sixties. Have two more classes left. I don't think I'll skip either of them, just because I actually read the assignment for Women's Lit and we are getting a quiz back in American Lit. That and the prospect of sitting around school waiting for my classes to start isn't that appealing.
I rented Closer last night. You can interpret that movie out the wazoo in terms of what it says about our society today in terms of men and women. Classic Mike Nichols. It really does hearken back to everything he said in Carnal Knowledge about that time period, and does the same thing with Closer for this time period. Eventhough I think the films are both drawn along very clear thematic lines, they definitely contain some message in regards to the society we live in today.
Work tonight. It really is appalling how little I find myself working during the week these days. Probably the reason I've been so profficient at updating this thing. The only thing is, it's really taking for-fucking-ever for Friday to get here. Work and school make things go quicker, but just school makes for better grades.
No new episode of the O.C. tonight. I think I said that two days ago. Man this week is going slow. It would be really nice to just get to Saturday night so that we can all watch UofL get stomped and then switch it over to VH1 storytellers to watch Green Day wax intellectually about their latest opus. I'm taping that thing.
I'm happy though. I'm starting to see VH1 reverting back to their old programming slightly. I mean on April 9 they are going to have the 100 greatest metal moments and then culminate their evening with the premiere (censored, mind you) of Metallica's "Some Kind of Monster." I realize that they are still airing a show entitled "The Best Week Ever" but--no, you know what? How low are the attention spans in our fucking society when we have to create a T.V. show celebrating the events of the past seven days? I mean Jesus Christ.
But still, baby steps are good. I'd like to see them get back into Behind the Music. There are still a lot of great ones out there to do.
Anyways, hope everyone is having a super-riffic day.
