Happiness is a semi-warm house.

We finally cracked and turned on the heat. And I am a much happier person because of it. Now, instead of being congested and sore with a scratchy throat and a headache and sneezing my head off in a house that never gets above forty degrees, I can do all of those things in relative comfort at roughly sixty degrees. Upon further discussion, we realized that diseases and bacteria thrive in a moist environment and that our house, since it was cold all the time, was not achieving the necessary temperature to dry out, so I essentially made myself sick by trying to save money on the heating bill.

I can't smell anything. As a result, I can't taste anything either.

And my eyes are blurry and tired and watery and probably red. I haven't bothered looking in a mirror since I got home from class, so I can't say for sure.

I was sitting in my Native American Lit. class and shivering, sniffling, and trying to warm my hands on my face, which was practically on fire and must have been beet red. I came home and drank a whole bunch of tea and had some ramen, but I think I still need more tea. I could do with some sudafed, too, but I'm too lazy to walk to the bus stop and my roomies all have plans for the evening, so I'll probably go get some when one or other of them gets back.

...oh, and our toilet is clogged and doesn't really flush well. I have to go on campus every time I need to do anything besides pee. Which is a pain in the ass. By the way. I'm calling the landlord to get someone out here to fix it, because Mog and I both took a plunger to that toilet and nothing is budging.

I'm going to do some more homework if I can keep my eyes open long enough, and possibly watch a movie before heading to bed VERY early.

Kati got the last two discs of the most recent season of Gray's Anatomy, so I spent my afternoon watching it and feeling sorry for myself. I hate being sick. I get all mopey and inarticulate and useless.
