I've been sick since Monday. Monday wasn't bad though but I could feel something coming on. Then yesterday it hit full blast. I was miserable all day and actually glad that not a lot of people came in the library. The headache I got Monday that hasn't gone away. Today it is a killer headache with my eyes hurting. I know by the end of today it will be another migraine. I started running a 102 degree fever last night and it hasn't gone away either. My body aches like someone has been pounding me with a bat or something. It was all I could do to force myself to come to work. I'm not taking anything right now because if I did I would be drooling on the desk and snoring as patrons came in. When I am down and out even Tylenol makes me go to lala land.
My husband's company just laid off 45 workers. He was barely safe. But with a sigh of relief I can say he still has his job. He is one of only a few that know every machine in his area. That is saying something since some of those machines you have to be specially trained to run.
However, they are moving him to day shift to take the place of someone they let go. He will go from working third shift Sunday-Thursday (11p-7:30a) to working Saturday-Tuesday from 7a-5:30pm. He will be losing the shift differential that he gets which is actually a pretty chunk of change. The number of hours will stay the same but just adjusted to longer shifts. So we will be losing some money which doesn't seem much but for a family of five- well you get the picture.
While I usually wouldn't complain about the shifting schedule, I am now. I will be working on his days off and he will work on mine. SO therefore we will have no time to do any family things. It sucks and really reminds me of the Army days. We will have nights and that is good but if I don't get home until after 6:45 and the kids have school, then really that kind of takes them out.
Sigh. Win/lose
