Take Your Parent to School Day

The school my oldest son goes to sponsered a Take Your Parent to School Day. I signed up to go and went to the 9:30-10:30 class time which of course ended up being history. I got to watch the class in action. They are learning about Latin America. It was interesting to say the least. I did find out that he has lost his textbook. Not good, not good at all.
Anyway, I arrived there as the kids were going to their classes. I must say that I am so glad I do not have to do what they do on a daily basis. I wanted to shrink back into a corner and hope I wasn't noticed. I know at least 2 kids from his history class are in isolation. Isolation is when they seperate kids who have more than 10 points against them, have been in a fight, and all kinds of other things. They are given class work to do but they do not get to participate in anything while they are in isolation. From what I had been hearing , it is not really working for some kids. Go Figure.
I did get to see him participating which is a good thing to see. So many times he won't do anything but just sit there. He may not have been very loud but he did get some answers going. Overall, I did enjoy getting to do this and look forward to doing it again next year if they continue having it and I can do so.
