Signed up for the Y yesterday....They have a sauna AND a whirlpool, fuckin awesome. I worked out today for two hours.....and now I'm walking like a little old lady... careful there, sonny! The man working out next to me told me I was embarrassing him because he always had to take the weights down after I used them. Can you say "Powerhouse"? Have not yet had the chance to use the sauna yet as I have no suitable swimwear or towel...Perchance tomorrow. They are also starting spinning classes in January, and you dont know how exstatic I am about that. I did spinning regularly when I was in Plattsburgh and I was so fit. Anywho...

Time to regale you with another story of life in Cincinnati. Last week working on of the nights I had some real horrors for guests. I was running around and doing headstands for them and they still wanted more. Apparently they werent so pleased, and left me a fairly insulting tip. While complaining and consoling the guy in which i aided him to get his job (see past entries), he was telling me about his horrid table. Thinking there might have been some sort of convention drawing bad tippers I was checking to see if the two tables were related. I asked him if they were older(my table was), and he said no. I asked if they were younger, thinking they might have been poor college students. He replied no then kind of inched over to me, put his hand up to my ear and whispered.....

"They were black."

Oh man......I lost nearly all respect for this kid when he told me about his girlfriend that "he didn't even like" and "didn't even treat her nice", yet when she "tried to kill herself" he tells me and expects me to feel bad for him. So you see, what little atom of respect I had left took a running start and jumped off the carew tower. I just turned around and walked away. Ever since telling my roommate this story I make fun of him for being from South Africa, and he calls me black. Making fun of people is easy!

This Cincinnati racism bullshit needs to stop. It's not even Cincinnati, its the midwest. Stop. Just fucking stop. You are just fueling one another's hate. When you are suspicious of someone just because of how light or dark they are, they are going to be angry and eventually blow up. I thought y'all learned this'ere lesson in that fandangled place called skoole.

In other news I got accosted by some news guy who wanted to ask me questions about some issue I knew nothing about, so I may appear on local news looking like a fool. While waiting for a bus I saw a reporter type guy and a cameraman interviewing not-so-random people(older businessmen) and decided to turn away. They snuck up on me as I was trying to avoid their approach. The guy gave me a quick rundown of this issue, the city council wants to install cameras downtown to catch speeding cars, and the fine of the speeding tickets goes to the installation of the cams. So he asked frozen me what I thought about it and I said I didn't see any problem with it, yadda yadda yadda. If I would've known more about the issue and hadn't been standing in the cold for 40 minutes I would've told him that they could concentrate on other pressing issues instead, like maybe eliminating racism, or funding the busline, or hey maybe even finishing up that abandoned subway built 80 years ago instead of boarding it up so not even I can use it! I didn't have much to say on the issue and I don't think it went like he had planned, plus I think there was snot dripping down my nose, so maybe they won't show it.
Who cares.
