Plants and stuff

I had a rare Saturday off and what do I do? Get up early and drive to USF Botanical Gardens for their semi-annual plant sale. Met up with Terri and Mel, who had already picked out a cartload of plants before I got there. I resisted as best I could. Rare fruit trees--nope. Florida native plants--nah. Heritage seeds--nuh uh. Cacti and succulents--yes, yes, yes! Oh, and a coleus, because who can resist those? Mel got a papaya tree and some papyrus. Terri had many different things beg to come home with her. Then we went to Panera Bread where it was *cool* and hung out until Terri mentioned that the plants might not be liking it so much in the hot van. I assume that they went straight home to plant their new purchases. I bought stuff that doesn't mind living in pots.

Sunday was the last Stone Hill meeting before Necro. Things were decided, work schedules were handed out and teenage children were volunteered to do the heavy lifting. I had fun talking with Evonne, who used to work at the same place as me, and Teri with one R. And I hung around with the usual suspects, of course. Necro will be held in a new hotel this year, so Terri and I are going to go check out the driving and parking situation a few days before the Con. I'd rather get lost and confused when I don't actually have to be there at a certain time. Yeah, I'm directionally challenged. But I'm still going.
