Up, up and away

I just watched the most wonderful movie on DVD. Danny Deckchair is the name of it and it's about this guy in Austrailia who is living a dull life (sound familiar?). One day, on a whim, he fills up some big balloons with helium and ties them to his deck chair. The movie is about where he ends up and what he does when he gets there. This is a really sweet movie with quite a bit of comedy. Mr Snaz liked it too, but not as much as I did. I would say that this a chick movie. :) The Aussies are doing something right, because the last movie I liked this much was Strictly Ballroom.

It's good to see that annmorris is posting again. I think she's the only person on my friends list that doesn't write fanfic. That makes two of us Ann, only you're interesting without it.

I post on here to help me get over my intense reluctance to write. It's almost a phobia sometimes, really. LJ has actually been a big help there. I was able to write little messages in a birthday card and a sympathy card without having to take all day to think about it first. I'm a reader, of course and I have a pretty good vocabulary and a fair grasp grammar and punctuation. (Can't spell worth a damn, though.) But when I go to write something down, everything I know just flies out of my head. The proper word or phrase for what I want to say stays just out of reach. I do so envy people who can write well. And I stand in awe of ptyx who writes in Portuguese and then translates it into English.
