Snape is Harry's uncle (Lily's brother)
This is a long shot, mainly because this fic is several years old.
I believe it was completed by the time I read it.
The scene I remember is that there was some potion - one that possibly reacted to blood of two idividuals - that told what their family ties were.
This was done because Harry started to look not himself, possibly because Lily's charms so that he resambles James we wearing off.
I think Snape said something along the lines of "It appears I am your uncle".
I searched for it a few years back with no luck, maybe this time someone finds it.
