novel writing tool?

Like 10 years ago, someone on my flist posted a link to a free piece of software that could essentially help someone like me write a novel. It helped keep track of characters, plotlines, major events, dates, locations, etc. It was a really effing awesome piece of software and I can't find it!

Anyone know what I'm talking about? D:
