Moving Right Along

Sooo, that's official. Ish. I am emigrating to England, barring visa denial. Sweet! I get to be with Michael, and go to school, and legally work, and all that. But hey, is it technically emigration if you're only staying six years or so? I mean, I'll end up getting right of permenant residence in the UK, even though I'll still be a U.S. citizen. And eventually we will settle here, so I guess I'm not technically an 'immigrant' since I'm not staying. But I have to get a settlement visa!

And boy howdy am I not looking forward to having to file dual citizenship, which both Michael and I are doing in order to make it easier to register our children (potential children, I'm not preggers) for dual citizenship so they can't get drafted. And, you know, they can pick their country of abode and so forth. But mostly, drafting.

So, hey, does anyone have any recent experience with passport/visa procurement? If you've had to get a visa, did you have to pay a THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR IT 'CAUSE I DO!! Seriously. Ugh. But it's okay, because I happen to be selling my car (which I no longer need) to my sister's boyfriend for, you guessed it, a thousand dollars.

There's just so much to do in, oh, the next 2.5 months before I leave. *Sigh*
