I meant to post this yesterday, but whatever. I read 59 books and a ton of short stories during 2009. My favorites were:

59 books??? Wow, that means more than one book per week. I used to read so much many years ago. Good times. I miss them.

"2001" sounds interesting.

Maybe, but it's barely over half my goal. :(

I can't even describe 2001 and do it justice. But you should totally read it. The movie is a sci-fi classic, and the guy who helped the director create/write the movie, wrote the book at the same time, so it's... not like the movie came out and then the book, or the book and then the movie, but they're not exactly the same either. But while the movie apparently has amazing graphics/sound, from what I've heard others say about it, the ending is totally different and idk, the beginning narration seems like it would be REALLY hard for a movie to capture and give the same meaning.

Wow, sorry for babbling...

You wanted to read 100 books??? *drops dead* Wow! That was a very ambitious goal I have to say. Maybe it works out this year? Or have you lowered your goal a bit?

I mean, I've heard of Arthur C. Clarke (which Sci-Fi fan hasn't?) and I thought I had a book written by him at home, but couldn't find it yesterday while I was skimming my shelves... Either way, I've added 2001 to my goodreads-'to read' list.

And that wasn't babbling, that was helpful information :)

Nah - same goal. But I am planning on reading a lot more urban fantasy this year, so hopefully it won't take me as long to reach each book.

Awesome. Well, I hope you enjoy it!
