Harry Potter 6

Just got home from seeing the midnight showing of the Half-Blood Prince.  I had fun!  My friend A brought homemade butterbeer, and homemade Cockroach Clusters, and cookies, and candy wands . . . the sugar should keep me up until I have to go into work in the morning.  *g*

I liked the movie quite a bit, too, though I think people who haven't read the books might be very very lost.  But they did a good job, I think.  The effects were beautiful, the actor playing Malfoy did a great job, and even though the majority of the audience knew exactly what was going to happen, the theatre was dead silent and attentive.  (To be fair, a few people were probably asleep.  After midnight and all.  But they weren't snoring!)  Now I'll be rereading the book, to see what they had to leave out.  (I can't actually think of any major scenes that were missing, but there obviously had to be SOME.)

Anyway -- good movie!  Am now going to reread the series while I wait for the seventh movie to come out.  On that topic, I find myself debating a very frivolous purchase.  The box sets of the books, either all in paperback, or all in hardback (and in a nifty Hogwarts luggage trunk thing!) are available through B&N, so I could get one and receive my 30% employee discount.  Which would be cool!  I want one!  But I already OWN all the books.  Half in paperback and half in hardback.  So buying a matched boxset is pretty much a pointless waste of money.

And yet . . . I want one!  Sigh.  Give me no sympathy.  Stupid stuff like this is why I'm poor.
