Strength, and will

How do you measure strength?  Or rather, what kind of strength inspires your concern and support?
(granted, its all a game, but still . . .)  Is it the undefeated team, like this season's Patriots?  The kind of team that just steam rolls through game after game with undeniable skill (yet still inspires -- in me, and in others, I'm sure -- the fervent wish for utter defeat?  I mean, I was reeaally hoping the Dolphins would beat them.  The Dolphins!)  Or is it a team like my Chiefs?  This season they have the worst record I can remember them having.  They've lost like, 8 straight games.  They've had injury after injury, contract problems, rookie players and an aging offense -- and still, they throw themselves into the game like crazy people!  They keep getting back up, and charging for that goal line . . .  I mean, really.  They aren't gonna gain anything but self -respect at this point.  The fact that they keep playing -- that they make sure that, whatever team they're playing, they're never underestimated -- that's strength of will, right there.  That's the kind of strength that makes me growl at the guys at work who scoff at their record, that makes me say, season after season, "of course we can go to the Superbowl.  If not this year, then the next."  Because with a team with this kind of persistence, this kind of sheer, bloody-minded willpower -- how could we not get there in the end?
