Well, here I sit at 10:30, after laying in bed for the past hour, unable to sleep. That damn lawsuit keeps floating in my head, and there's nothing that I can do about it. Fucking collection agencies. I pulled out all the documentation that I have on the lawsuit against my landlord, and I have proof that I informed them of the favorable outcome of the lawsuit on 11/20/01! That they never officially dismissed the suit is extremely upsetting, but honestly there's nothing illegal about it...if they proceed with it, though, there's a possibility of getting something out of it, but after looking up the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the most I can get is $1000 per violation, and at the most I can only really come up with two blatant violations - the filing of the original claim when they knew that the underlying debt was invalid, plus - if they proceed with the suit - proceeding with a suit with full knowledge that the underlying debt was dismissed. Oh well...maybe I'll play a little more Dungeon Siege before heading back to bed. We'll see...
