AG: 2018 First Release, Part Tenney
I'll be updating this as I go along, I think. We'll leave Luci's post as is and make this the catch-all for the other things. Probably.
We're starting with Tenney's new stuff because it's the least amount, I think, and pretty self-contained. For whatever reason, AG decided to go and make mix-n-match stuff for Tenney but it's a very odd assortment.
Tenney's Split Front Dress // $15

Tenney feels like a star in this gorgeous deep-red dress that sparkles in the spotlight; it has separate layers of tulle over the skirt for extra fullness.
You say red, I say pink. I... eh? I think the idea could have worked if they'd stayed closer to their obvious Taylor Swift inspiration but nope. Instead of just making this a full on dress, they went and made it mix and match and it just seems very unfinished. The top seems very plain, though it's possible that if jazzed up with accessories I'd like this more. Also, and this shows I have NO fashionable bone in my body, I want desperately to pair this with big ol' black boots if they insist on using the black shorts for this. Then we could go less pop-Taylor and more vampire hunter or something.

In general, I'm not a huge fan of this. I think there were some good/interesting ideas but the execution fell a little flat in places for me. Dress, I mean you. I suppose this kind of fits in with Tenney's stuff in general. There's a lot of stuff I kind of like, but very little I must, must have.

Y'know, I think AG could probably do with some actual, legit LE stuff. I'm not sure I would look at this and think, "yup, LE worthy stuff here" but you gotta start somewhere. I assume this is a bit of a tie in for the Olympics? In any case, I actually think this is a rather cute outfit. I dig the hat and the sunnies enough that I might even be willing to pay *twitch* shipping. I think I'd be disappointed if I missed this, but I also freely admit that I could just be swayed by the cute pieces I do like and the fact that it's modeled on a doll I find adorable. :p

You ever look at an outfit and you know full well what kind of jackass wears it in reality? Mmm. Hmm. I've gotta say, old man buying cigars and Newports is probably a new look for AG but there you are. Also, douche bros wearing this around downtown. Seriously, this is a look that on it's own is not bad. But I have seen it come to life in so many bad ways that I see shirts like this and I kind of break out in hives. Kind of literally because I'm itching right now. I will say those flip flops don't complete the look here, but only because they're not quite the right kind of flip flops. For here. I dunno about elsewhere.
Jess mold boy is still off and looking like those possessed dolls that pop up every Halloween or whenever. Something isn't quite working out for me with him.

You know what colors I hate together? Coral and lime green. Haaaaaaaaaaaate. Make it in pompom form and you've got me ignoring all the things I might like about this and raging about the headband and the shoes. Of course, I don't really like AG dresses that show off the arm sockets either and this highlights them. What I do like? I like the coral. I like the embroidery and the sequins. I like the style of shoe, even if I don't like the color. But this isn't one I will buy at full price or possibly ever. I do want to see it on Gabby or someone though.
Also, I have a weird love/hate thing with smocked waists. I used to love them as a kid. They still remind me of certain dresses of my mother's (and my own) but ohmyglob, when they'd start to dig into your skin, it was the worst.

People lost their minds over the thought that this would be labeled as for boys instead of unisex but that didn't happen so I got to sit back and snicker softly. Because I'm rude.
I have no real love or hate for this. I think it could be dressed up to work for my army but I also have no burning desire to buy it so... eh.

It's one I'll look forward to seeing how other people put it to use, y'know?

Normally I don't include the "for 18inch dolls" in my titles because duh, but this outfit has a matching Wellie Wishers outfit which you'll see in a minute so I thought I'd just make it clear in case pictures go weird or something in the future.
I think this is one that almost works for me. My Coconut outfit likes haven't really existed for the most part, though I couldn't tell you why. I like the shorts and the pillow. I don't dislike the graphic on the shirt, but the sleeves are very busy and with them not matching the shorts, my brain gets a little fizzy. But I like it when I see it not in this stock image so it's not too bad. I also like that they're pairing the Wellies and the regular dolls together because I like when AG shakes things up and cross promotes their items. I think matching stuff with the Wellies works way better than it did with Bitty because the scale works out. Or is closer, anyway. The slippers look a little creepy, but you could easily convince me that Coconut is out to murder us all.

It's cheesy and over the top and kind of amazingly awful and wonderful and if the shoes didn't gap in the back (Mattel, Jesus, you're better than this!) I'd be all oer this. I might still be because it's pretty much so Emerson. On the flipside, it's also pretty different from the other Wellie things, which is oddly worrisome. Self, you weren't a fan of the original wave of Wellie outfits and you like these. Why worry.

I mean, boy dolls aren't my thing but I don't hate that he exists.

Ready? Yeah, this does nothing for me. It's cute and I hope the Wellies continue to do well for AG but this isn't tempting me. AG or similarly sized doll bands aren't my thing, but as a kid I might've felt differently. I mean, Barbie and the Rockers, JEM... these days it's a size issue, really.

Comparing it to the Make it Great set it's less similar than I originally thought and I shall probably buy this at some point because of the screwdriver.

I think this is one that almost works for me. My Coconut outfit likes haven't really existed for the most part, though I couldn't tell you why. I like the shorts and the pillow. I don't dislike the graphic on the shirt, but the sleeves are very busy and with them not matching the shorts, my brain gets a little fizzy. But I like it when I see it not in this stock image so it's not too bad. I also like that they're pairing the Wellies and the regular dolls together because I like when AG shakes things up and cross promotes their items. I think matching stuff with the Wellies works way better than it did with Bitty because the scale works out. Or is closer, anyway. The slippers look a little creepy, but you could easily convince me that Coconut is out to murder us all.

Interesting that they're basically re-releasing the Wellie's accessories with some tweaks here and there. I guess it makes sense. Dolly screwdriver is adorable, as is the measuring tape. Not a huge fan of the tool belt but I do like that they went less girly with it just to change things up. Kendall, darling, that is a terrible way to carry a wet paint brush though. Comparing it to the Make it Great set it's less similar than I originally thought and I shall probably buy this at some point because of the screwdriver.

I think this concludes the new release. I don't think Bitty Baby got anything new and if I missed anything, I'm sorry. Mostly it's a release that either did nothing for me (most of the Wellie stuff) or made me want to throw my wallet at the company (Luciana's stuff).
