(no subject)
so here i am in the subzero igloo that is the lobby of an overpriced hotel in arlington, va. going to d.c. was very strange without having my mother around but i'm coping. my mom's sister is with us and they're like twins so i've actually had a pretty good times.
woke up this morning at 0500 MY time but 0800 EST. never heard the end of it from dad. bring on the air force jokes from the man who spent 30 years in the marine corps. i cannot and will not ever win that battle.
took a shower and realized that my body washed SUCKED. then i read it. yeah, dove SHAMPOO. why would dove make a shampoo that looks EXACTLY like the cucumber body wash they have? doesn't make sense to me either.
dad's only two months post-op his total knee replacement. i thought we'd use the metro more but he was determined to make it all the way from l'enfant plaza up to the white house, down to the holocaust museum, and over to the arlington bridge. we caught a cab to the air force memorial. i loved it. it's right outside of henderson hall where dad used to work. it's very pretty. got some awesome pictures but of course left my card reader at home so i can't post them. more to come later.
now i'm literally dead on my feet. and freezing.
