Hey did you know I like cockroaches

I DREW A COCKROACH PERSON AND I LIKE HIM AND CHEKHOV LOOKS MIGHTILY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS

For an idea of how much this shading helped to make Moritasgus a terrifying motherfucker, here's the pre-shaded version for comparison. I'm gonna color it, but who knows what it'll look like then (I certainly don't!). So I'm sharing the inked version because I have a huge head and I rather like it and I'm worried I am about to ruin it somehow.

I was reading Scott McCloud and how a lot of expressions are telling in that they're the result of trying to hide an emotion, so I tried to do that with Chekhov. Does it come across? Look at it for a sec and then read the next sentence. The intended expression was for him to look disgusted and intimidated, but attempting to cover it up in a Tough Face. YesNo? I don't really have to worry about that with Moritasgus because his expressions range from stare to stareharder, although I'll probably have some fun with him later too.

blahblahblah talking about my own artwork
The people in my class seem to like this, but guys please stop standing behind me and asking me questions while I am drawing because that's very frightening
no really I am so happy that you like it and are curious but I am scared of questions and they are even harder to answer when I am trying to decide whether I want to texture a giant cockroach shell or not

Anyway so I finished my baroque paper and I feel like a total badass and I think I'll draw some tardigrades and finish my weekend homework so this weekend doesn't suck.

ETA:
Question!
I am coloring this with colored pencils spread with vegetable oil, and that has its own special texture, but I am debating whether or not I want to add more ink textures to vary it up. Like, for instance, I could crosshatch Chekhov's coat or hexagonalhatch Moritasgus' shell. What are your artisty thoughts?

fear, animation is concentration, pros arch, shut me up, moritasgus is three chekhovs long
