oh, work.
I have been working like a working thing the last few weeks! I've hit my first real patch of days off since about a week before Christmas, and it's so nice. For serious, the only day off I had between Dec. 19th and Jan. 3rd was Christmas day, and that was because we were closed that day. Now I suddenly have a week of every other day off, and I love it.
Today I worked, though, and it was nutty mcnutterson. I worked an eight and a half hour shift, which is, you know, awesome, and about an hour before I got to go home, I managed to slip and fall. Here's the best thing about that, though. I was cleaning the floors, and I had removed all the non-slip mats and was sweeping, so the floor wasn't even really wet yet. But there was a little damp spot near the frap blenders, and as I went to get some ice water for a customer, I managed to slip in it. I did that funny flailing thing before my feet went out from under me, and I started to fall back onto my ass before I caught the edge of the counter. Now, while that did slow my fall, so that it didn't really hurt when my ass met the floor, I did manage to pull an entire 2 liter pitcher of iced passion tea onto myself, so that once I was on the floor, I ended up with a lap full of liquid, and a floor soaked with all the rest of the tea that didn't fit onto my lap. I was like, oh awesome. Then, while my pants were soaking wet with tea, and the floor was covered in sticky liquid, we got a line of, like, ten customers. It was fun. For serious. At least my pride was more bruised than my ass.
Also, a belated thanks for cards! vibrantharmony sent me a cool fandom card (awesome!), and akukorax sent me a holiday card with a penguin on it (cute!). Thanks, guys!
