Again a long time coming but here is a general glimpse into the window of my world. Last night I went to see Behemoth. For those that are not in the know, these guys are a Polish black metal band, formed in about 88 ish. They are pretty fucking heavy and although they are getting on a bit they did ok :)
My only issue is, I can't help but feel that black metal isn't my bag anymore. I love the music but at gigs I don't seem to enjoy the whole thing as much. This could be down to major tinnitus in one ear or it could be that I just have changed in my views on music. The tinnitus is irritating though. I used earplugs but hate the fact that it ruins the music a bit, perhaps i should get some decent ones.... anyway, I digress...
The support band were very very good. Suicide Silence from America. They were a grindcore band. Pretty good although the vocals could do with some variation, musically they were brilliant.
The main thing I did notice last night was a bit of a crowd issue. When we got there the other support band were already on (can't remember who they were) and I commented to Dave that the crowd were hugely animated for the first band which is unusual. Everyone was in high spirits, there was quite a large crowd as well. Things took a weird turn after that. It seemed a bit like the metal crowd were not too happy with the emo/hardcore whatever lot. So lots of people got thrown out after various Kung fu type moves and the atmosphere was a bit weird for a bit. I am glad they got thrown out as no-one likes getting kicked in the face in the mosh pit. This is something I saw at a gig at the Guildhall not long ago. I think I must be getting old because there is this strange craze of high kicks and oddness in what used to be the mosh pit. Odd. Bring back the real pain I say ! ;)
Other than that I haven't been up to much. I am the prowd owner of Burnout 4 which is entertaining my evenings and I have enough weed to see me into March which is sweet too. I have a ticket for Biomechanical in a couple of weeks which sound a bit like Strapping Young Lad with Maiden vocals. Could be interesting.
We are not really on target for holiday of a lifetime. I am about a fifth of the way towards my total required amount so it is still achievable but will need more will power from me to stop going out and getting twatted lol
Still going though, one way or another so at least thats something lol
So everything cool in Trace-Land. House is a happy home, boy is sexy and sweet, if a little unreliable lol and work is chugging along nicely fuelled but a better general outlook on life.
So thats me, in a nutshell :)
Have a nice Thursday everyone :)
*Edit*
I was given a flyer last night for a band called Lordaeron. I thought to myself, 'there is no way that is a real word' so I have looked it up on the internet and it turns out its some fictional land in WoW.
FFS.
Why is the metal world riddled with geeks ......
