THOUGHTS PART 2

Well, here I am again, writing nonsense.
This shooting is terrible.
I knew it would be, but since we are reshooting for the seventh time the same scene, I can't be bothered.
I am stuck with this Brazilian director, who speaks English, this French client, who speaks French...
What a glamorous world I live in, you have no idea.

So, where was I?
Ah, yes, ranting about SN season 3.

I was going through Casey's new adventurous life and Danny's domestic interlude.

1) Danny and Rebecca

Well, we know how this is going to end, don't we?
Badly.
For sure.
Rebecca is starting to get bored.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about her sex life, just her professional life.
I'm not sure I got this completely right, I need to rewatch season 2,...but I was under the impression she left NY to follow her stupid, abusive husband of hers.
Then she came back with a bunch of flowers to screw our little Danny's head.
Naughty girl.
So, I guess she doesn't have a job anymore.
And that's a problem.
Because, you know, her boyfriend is kind of busy, especially during the evenings, sort of.
Somewhere along the line, our little Rebecca turns into a depressive Housefrau.
Not that I blame her, per se, working women locked at home tend to become quite depressed.
So, in the midst of becoming a cross over between Bree and Lynette, she starts to pressurize our beloved Dannyboy into...guess what...
We have to remember she spends a lot of her lunch hours with Nathalie debatting about wedding dresses, flowers arrangements, and synagogue versus church.
Yes.
They decide to get engaged.
Yay.
I already said that.
The thing is, they decide to keep it a secret.
Except to Jeremy and Nathalie.
Why?
Because.
Lots of reasons.
Rebecca thinks it's better to protect their relationship.
Danny...thinks it's better not to tell Casey. He thinks Casey will freak out. He doesn't want to admit it though.
Now, Rebecca also wants to go back to work.
She uses Nathalie, who may I remind you is now in charge since Dana is at home, to persuade Calvin Trager to hire her back in Marketing.
Calvin, who by the way turns out to be the nicest guy on the planet, agrees.
Why?
Because he wants to please Nathalie.
As long as Nathalie is happy, Dana stays happily at home to rest.
Good.
Now, all this happiness is a bit too much for Danny.
Shadows from the past start to lurch in his tormented little brain and guess what?
He starts to throw up again.
A lot. All the time.
Sometimes he needs to leave the rundown meetings.
Yes.
Casey doesn't notice.
Well, it's Casey, you know...and he has other issues on his mind right now (please refer to section 1)
But Jeremy notices and finds out.
How does he find out?
I don't know but he does.
He doesn't say anything about it, though, neither to Casey, nor to Nathalie.
Danny spends a lot of time with Abby, trying to understand why he is not delightfully happy about his future marriage.
Yay.
This is therapy phase 3, the best part.
Especially the discussions where Abby asks him to recall the happiest moments of his life....and they are all related to Casey.
Yay.
Especially the moments where she tries to persuade him to tell Casey about his engagement.
Yay.
This is so cool.

2) Casey

Here we go again.
Casey, who has now an exciting life of his own, is not totally happy.
Yes.
He was already not totally thrilled about Dana's pregnancy.
But, as we all know, the worst has yet to come.
Yay.
Excuse me for a second, I need to calm down a very heavy discussion between the client and the director (never leave a client alone on a set with the director, bad, bad idea).

Okay.
Here I am back again.
So, one day....shit happens.
Charlie tells his father on a sunday night, when they are driving back home to Lisa , that he is going to have a little sister.
Yay.
But this is nothing compared to what happens monday morning.
Danny, after his tenth session with Abby on the same topic, decides to be brave.
He tells Casey he is engaged to Rebecca.
He also tells him he is leaving for a few days to meet Rebecca's parents and celebrate.
Isn't this lovely?
You bet.
Casey reacts the way he reacts normally.
Hides in his shell and shows nothing.
However, the combination of his ex-wife's pregnancy and Danny's engagement is just a bit too much for his tiny mind.
Especially when he finds out, after opening up with Jeremy, that Jeremy and Nathalie, knew about this already.
So, Danny LIED to him, OH MY GOD.
"This is the end, my friend, this is the end."
Who sings that song by the way, I can't remember?
Anyway, to make a long story short, sometime during that week, Casey gets high, really high, just before air time.
Ah, I think Sorkin would have loved this one.
Directing Casey Mc Call high during the show.
Hmm, I'm not sure he directs, though, maybe he just writes.
I'm pretty sure he must have been high when he wrote some of the dialogues of TWW.
I sure woud have loved to direct a scene like that.
Nevermind.
I'm digressing.
So, here we are with Casey tremendously high, five minutes before air time, no Danny, and Bobbi Bernstein very preoccupied.
Ah.
Nathalie freaks out.
You see, she is young, although very talented.
This is where our British manly gay friend (please refer to section 1 again) gives a hand.
He is not troubled in the least.
He has a lot of experience, remember?
Now, it is also time to acknowledge that this guy has a HUGE CRUSH on Casey.
He never showed it, of course.
He has a boy friend, remember?
But, lets face it, how could a forty years old manly gay guy AVOID HAVING A HUGE CRUSH ON CASEY Mc CALL?
You don't know?
I don't either.
So, he carries our friend Casey during the whole show, whispering the scripts in his mic.
Yes.
And it's fucking unbelivable to watch.
Afetr the show, they leave together, supposedly to drink a few beers somewhere.
Yay.
What happens the morning after?
Hmm.
Well, that morning, precisely, Nathalie has some errands to do with her mother to try her wedding dress on.
Yes, this is before she breaks up with Jeremy for the fourth time.
They are sitting in a cafe, at the other end of the town, gloating about the dress.
But then, all of a sudden, she sees Casey having breakfast with...ahem...her senior assistant producer.
Yes.
At ten AM.
And Casey is still wearing his on air clothes, the ones from yesterday, just saying in case anybody is wondering.
WOAW.
Why does she see them?
Because.
It's NATHALIE and she sees things she is not supposed to see.
Now, we don't see a lot of Casey and his ahem..friend.
They are in the background, but you feel an intimacy.
Just you know, the way they look at each other, smile etc..
This is how I would shoot this...you would see everything through Nathalie eyes and facial expressions.
Okay, I have to stop this, since I'm not a director.
Although, there are days like today, for instance, where I think I shoud be behind the camera.
Would save us a lot of time and money.
Nevermind, all this is very subtle.
Nathalie is devastated.
She goes back to work and OH MY GOD SHE TELLS JEREMY.
It's okay, you know, I would probably do the same if the same kind of thing happened to me.
Ah.
Jeremy, who isn't that surprised, by the way, about Casey going on the dark side of the force, tells Nathalie his little secret.
Yes, you remember, Danny is throwing up a lot LATELY.
Now, if you'll excuse me... but this time I need to go because we are shooting the packshot and the client is acting wild.
I'll be back soon.
